How to get to the “AYLLURUNA” Experiential Tourism Center?
🚗 Option 1: Private or Hired Transportation
You can travel in your own vehicle or hire private transportation.
✅ The route is the same for everyone:
• 80% paved road
• 20% compacted dirt road (gravel)
🔧 Recommendation: Use four-wheel drive (4x4) vehicles, especially during the rainy season or if you want greater stability in rural areas.
🎒 Option 2: Backpacking (traveler & budget-friendly mode)
1️⃣ Cusco → Quillabamba
• Departure point: Imperial City of Cusco – Peru.
• Bus terminal: Av. Antonio Lorena, Santiago District.
• Destination: City of Quillabamba.
• ⏰ Recommended departure time: 8:00 a.m. (to enjoy the landscape).
• 🕓 Travel time: Approx. 5 hours.
2️⃣ Stay in Quillabamba (optional)
• You can rent a room in a local guesthouse to rest or explore a bit of the city before continuing your journey.
3️⃣ Quillabamba → Saniriato
• Go to the following transportation agency:
📍 Bus Agency (Megantoni)
Address: Jr. Ricardo Palma N° 302 (in front of Quillabamba’s Municipal Theater).
🎫 Final destination: Saniriato.
• ⏰ Departure time: 2:00 a.m. (highly recommended due to the region’s tropical climate, which is cooler at dawn).
• 🕓 Travel time: Approximately 5 hours.
• 📍 Final stop: Capiso Station in Malanquiato (AylluRuna Lodge).
📍 Final Destination: Pongo de Mainique
From AylluRuna Lodge, the route continues by tourist boats.
